These Terms of Service (“Terms”) represent a binding legal agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Vedansh Danot (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of Paster (“Paster,” “the App,” “the Software”), including the desktop software application for Windows, license keys, documentation, and the official website.
By downloading, installing, purchasing a license for, or using Paster, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase, install, or use the Software.
1. Local-First Architecture & System Compatibility
Paster is designed as a standalone, local-first software application engineered natively for Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11 (64-bit and ARM64 architectures).
All clipboard records, screenshots, color swatches, quick snippets, and on-device OCR indices are processed and stored locally on your computer. Paster does not require an active cloud connection for regular clipboard functionality.
2. License Grant & Device Tiers
Upon purchasing a valid license key through Polar.sh, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, perpetual license to install, activate, and use Paster on Windows devices, strictly in accordance with your purchased seat tier:
- 1-PC Personal License: Allows one individual to activate and run Paster on a single primary Windows computer.
- Multi-PC Personal License (2+ PCs): Allows one individual to activate and use Paster across their personal Windows devices up to the purchased seat limit.
- Commercial / Team License: Allows an organization to activate Paster across the designated number of employee workstations specified at checkout.
Licenses are associated with unique hardware identifiers to enforce seat limits. If you upgrade or replace your PC, you may transfer your license key by deactivating it on the old machine.
3. Pricing, One-Time Payment, & No Subscriptions
Paster is sold on a pay-once, own-forever model. There are no recurring subscriptions, monthly fees, or unexpected annual renewal charges.
Your purchase grants you lifetime access to the purchased major version (v1.x), including all maintenance updates, feature enhancements, performance optimizations, and security patches released for that generation.
4. Purchases, Deliverables, & 14-Day 100% Refund Policy
All checkout processing, invoicing, tax calculation, and license key generation are fulfilled securely by Polar.sh. Upon successful payment, you immediately receive your license key and download instructions.
We want Paster to genuinely supercharge your daily productivity. If Paster does not fit your workflow or you encounter technical compatibility issues on your PC, you may request a full 100% refund within 14 days of purchase. Simply email vedanshh.dev@gmail.com with your order details. Upon refund approval, your license key will be deactivated.
5. License Restrictions & Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to, and will not permit any third party to:
- Share, publish, rent, lease, sub-license, resell, or distribute your Paster license keys publicly on the web.
- Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the binary release builds, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Bypass, alter, or circumvent the license verification or seat enforcement mechanisms.
- Distribute cracked, modified, or unauthorized repackaged versions of Paster.
- Use the Software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
6. User Content & Intellectual Property
Your Content Remains Yours: You retain complete ownership, copyright, and intellectual property rights over all text, code snippets, links, images, files, screenshots, and colors you copy, store, or manage with Paster.
We claim zero intellectual property rights or ownership interest in any content processed by your local installation of Paster. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the requisite permissions, rights, and licenses for any materials you copy or store.
Paster Intellectual Property: The Paster brand name, logos, website design, UI artwork, software binary, and documentation are the intellectual property of Vedansh Danot and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
Paster is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
While Paster is engineered using modern, memory-safe Rust and Tauri architectures with extensive testing, we do not warrant that the App will be completely error-free or uninterrupted across all third-party Windows software configurations.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, hardware malfunction, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use Paster. Our total aggregate liability shall be limited to the amount actually paid by you for the Paster license.
